About

Whether you’re a long-time fan or just getting started, Home School Hoop is here to answer your basketball questions and enrich your enjoyment of the game.

Hey there! I’m Kim Nunley, founder of Home School Hoop, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to our basketball haven. In 2023, I embarked on this journey to foster a love for the game of basketball and unite fellow enthusiasts.

Having played basketball at both community college and 4-year college levels, including a memorable State Tournament appearance and a Sweet Sixteen run, my passion for the sport runs deep. I’ve coached at the college level and used to train athletes. Today, I’m still that fervent fan who subscribes to sports packages and travels far and wide to catch games in person.

Basketball isn’t just a game; it’s a powerful force for good in our lives. It teaches us teamwork, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that extend far beyond the court. My belief in the transformative power of sports runs so deep that I made a documentary, After the Game: A 20 Year Look at Three Former Athletes. This film explores the enduring positive impact sports can have on individuals long after their playing days are over. It’s a testament that basketball and sports can shape character, build friendships, and instill valuable life lessons that last a lifetime.

I care about providing unbiased and fact-checked information. Disclaimer: While I’m mostly a fan of the sport, I’ve got a soft spot for Northern California teams like the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, and proudly support the Las Vegas Aces (I’m excited the Bay Area will get its own WNBA team soon!).

Thank you for visiting Home School Hoop!
